ABOUT
Nathaniel Li (b.1995 in China) is currently working in London, United Kingdom. He obtained his MFA degree at the University of Pennsylvania. His work focuses on the conflict between China’s contemporary development and individual’s identity. Through metaphorically capturing and reproducing the history, memory, and landscape, he illuminates the difficulties of diversity generated within a single cultural system, as well as the problems and various crises that arise when absorbing western culture.
In 2022, Li started to resident in Liuzhou, Guangxi, for an independent research on the relationship between verbal affects(in dialect) and image. He claims this as a new approach in researching on visual-anthropology.
